Choose the Insurance Option That Suits You Best

At Car4Rent Málaga, we want your journey to be not only comfortable, but also safe. We offer three insurance options – choose the one that best suits your needs and travel style.

1. Basic Insurance – Third-Party Liability

Basic third-party liability insurance is included in the rental price.

✔ Covers: third-party liability for damage caused to other persons or their property, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.

✘ Does not cover: damage to the rented vehicle caused by the Renter or damage where the responsible third party cannot be identified. In such cases, the Renter is fully financially liable for the damage.

2. Plus Insurance Package

Extended protection for customers who want to reduce their financial liability during the rental period.

✔ Covers: damage to the bodywork of the rented vehicle.

✘ Does not cover: damage to windows, tyres or rims. The Renter remains financially responsible for damage to these parts.

3. Full Insurance Package

Our most comprehensive level of protection for customers who want to minimise their financial liability during the rental period.

✔ Covers: damage to the bodywork, windows, tyres and rims of the rented vehicle.

⚠ Important – Insurance Exclusions

None of the insurance options offered cover:

• lost or damaged vehicle keys,

• damage caused by using the wrong type of fuel,

• damage to the vehicle interior, including burns, permanent stains or upholstery damage,

• damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances,

• damage caused while the vehicle is being driven by an unauthorised person.

When Does the Insurance Not Apply?

Insurance protection may not apply in certain situations, including when:

• The vehicle has been used in breach of the rental agreement.
• The required accident or damage report has not been provided, or has not been submitted within the required time.
• The relevant additional insurance option (Plus or Full) was not purchased before the rental began.

What Should You Do in Case of Damage?

To benefit from the applicable insurance protection, you must:

• Report the incident to Car4Rent Málaga within 24 hours.
• Provide a complete report of the incident, including the details of all parties involved, a description of what happened and, where applicable, photographs and/or a sketch of the incident.
• Contact the relevant authorities in the event of an accident, theft, attempted theft or vandalism, where required.
• Do not leave the vehicle unsecured. If possible, take all reasonable steps to protect the vehicle from further damage.
